During this experience we will be staying in different accommodation types, ranging from a very colorful Mexican style hotel in the City of Oaxaca, to very cozy cabins in the Sierra, surrounded by the most breathtaking sights of mountains and clouds.
Santiago Carsolio lives in Mexico City and comes from a family of mountaineers and runners. His grandparents were both well-known mountaineers and ultra runners and he continues their legacy with a respectable ‘Fastest Known Time’ or FKT and records in several national and international marathons.
Santiago believes running is an essential part of discovering ourselves and the world around us. He also sees trail running and a connection to nature as a very much needed medicine for these chaotic times.
Santiago shares the values that Aire Libre Running promotes in each of our experiences: nature as a common language to connect people, and running as a way to better understand culture, and has worked on several projects with us throughout the last 2 years. If you get a chance to speak with Santiago you can expect geeky volcano talks, conversations about indigenous legacies, legends about Mexican trail running, and many jokes. He teaches outdoor education to children, helps organize races, and considers himself a natural architect and outdoor facilitator.
You can reach him on Instagram as @santiagocarsolio
