Stay in an Art Deco Hotel style in the heart of the Condesa, with a lot of personality. A privileged space with history, great hospitality and with a lot of personality, with capacity to accommodate in single, double or triple use apartments, each with a private bathroom.
Santiago Carsolio lives in Mexico City and comes from a family of mountaineers and runners. His grandparents were both well-known mountaineers and ultra runners and he continues their legacy with a respectable ‘Fastest Known Time’ or FKT and records in several national and international marathons.
Santiago believes running is an essential part of discovering ourselves and the world around us. He also sees trail running and a connection to nature as a very much needed medicine for these chaotic times.
Santiago shares the values that Aire Libre Running promotes in each of our experiences: nature as a common language to connect people, and running as a way to better understand culture, and has worked on several projects with us throughout the last 2 years. If you get a chance to speak with Santiago you can expect geeky volcano talks, conversations about indigenous legacies, legends about Mexican trail running, and many jokes. He teaches outdoor education to children, helps organize races, and considers himself a natural architect and outdoor facilitator.

Day 1: Arrival to Mexico City – 10 km Night Beer Run
A couple of days before the trip, each participant will be given instructions on how to get to the accommodation facility located in the Condesa area. From here, we will start our epic Night Beer Run route at a friendly pace bar hopping through 4 of the best neighborhoods in Mexico City and from there we will run straight to our Welcome Dinner hub. This route is perfect for acclimatizing to the altitude of Mexico City.

Day 2: Visit through the Xochimilco floating gardens – Ciudad Universitaria 12 km run
We rise early for our day trip to Xochimilco “where the flowers grow”, here we will take a trajinera boat ride that will lead us through the lake canals to the chinampas: traditional farming lake beds, from here we will enjoy a unique yoga and meditation session, overlooking the lake, wetlands river and farming ranges. After this, we will enjoy a delicious farm to table brunch offered by our local hosts.
In the evening we will enjoy a relaxing run at UNAM’S main campus, known as Ciudad Universitaria, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
We will finish the day with an absolutely fabulous dinner in an atmospheric location in the Roma-Condesa neighborhood.

At the top, you will find ruins of an archaeological site where the Aztecs performed ceremonies where they offered sacrifices dedicated to Tlaloc, the god of rain. This route is one of the most rewarding runs in the trip!
After spending the day in Mount Tláloc, we will come back to Mexico City to experience a mayan sweat lodge temazcal ceremony led by an authentic nahual. This you will never forget!
