Day 1: Arrival at Cacachilas Guest Ranch
Meeting at La Paz International Airport.
From La Paz airport, we will drive 40 minutres southeast of La Paz into the Ranch.
After a welcome cocktail, we will start our experience with a 10K shakeout run set in the Sierra Cacachilas Mountains followed by a delicious organic farm-to-table culinary experience and an astronomy session.

Day 2: 16K Run to Las Canoas Mineral Canyon – Los Pisos wilderness camp
We rise early for our mindfulness session to set us up for the day.
From Chivato Ranch we will start a 360º degree view trail to Las Canoas Ranch to enjoy a fun 16K – run to show off the unique palm-lined canyon along La Canoas arroyo and local ecosystem. Here at Las Canoas small homestead we will enjoy a delicious brunch.
Later, we will transfer to Los Pisos (with the option to run), a remote wilderness camp and site of the old mining town of Cacachilas, where we will enjoy a sunset yoga session along the mountain ridge lines and enjoy a solar-powered farm-to-table dinner followed by a bonfire under the dark night star-filled skies. Remote glamping at its finest!

Day 3: 14K descent run from the Sierra to Agua Caliente Beach – Los Pisos wilderness camp
This trail begins at Los Pisos and will lead us down the mountain, through a canyon, offering views of different islands in the Sea of Cortez. The run ends at the beach of Agua Caliente, named after its hot springs. This trail is one of the most rewarding runs in the trip!
After spending the day at the beach, we will head back to Los Pisos to experience a late afternoon yoga session and a campfire dinner.

Day 4: 17K Dos Hermanos Ranch – Cheese Tasting – Chivato Ranch
Today we will engage in an 17K run that will take us from Los Pisos campsite to Dos Hermanos: a Ranch that houses a creamery and seed garden. Along the way, we will be delighted by lovely views of La Ventana Bay, Cerralvo Island, and Sierra de la Laguna, the highest peak in the state of Baja California Sur.
After spending the day at Dos Hermanos, we will head back to Chivato Ranch to experience a poolside relaxation afternoon where the group will lounge the night away by the fire pits before our final farewell dinner.

Day 5: Meditation and grounding – Farewell breakfast
In the morning we’ll sit together for a closing mindfulness practice and share farewell breakfast to close the experience.

The weather in Baja California Sur in November is almost perfect!
This is a month with warm maximum daytime temperatures around 30°C (85°F) and nighttime temperatures around 18°C (64°F). It is a very warm month in some areas, so be prepared and make sure to dress lightly.

All of our trips are designed to welcome hikers and runners of all fitness levels. We will assign different guides to groups of different levels so that no one is left behind. You will feel safe and comfortable throughout the trip whether you’re a professional runner that wants to add these runs to your training, an amateur who wants to explore the world of trail-running or a casual hiker who wishes to challenge themselves while enjoying nature in a secure environment.
Fly to La Paz International Airport Aeropuerto Internacional Manuel Márquez de León (LAP) making sure to arrive at least a couple of hours before the getaway begins and to leave a couple of hours after.
Traveler’s Tip: from San Diego, CA – walk 5 minutes across the CBX bridge directly to the Tijuana airport terminal and take a domestic flight from Tijuana to La Paz.

Aire Libre Running will provide a van shuttle from and to the airport.
There will be parts of the route that will be carried out running mostly under direct sunlight, so please plan to carry enough water and bring appropriate sun protection (clothes, sunblock, hat/cap, sun glasses, etc…)
Closer to the experience, you will be invited to a WhatsApp group chat.
We use WhatsApp to connect with the group and share detailed info about the trip.
