"And I think often through a running lens, you know, we don't think of running as a very extractive, or like the outdoor industry, as very extractive but in a lot of ways it is right? People aren't building relationships.

Traditionally the language around the outdoor industry has been very like colonial, you know, ‘’conquer that mountain’’, um and it hasn't been about this process of building relationships with landscapes, but like we are constantly visiting them and maybe we’re trying to set a PR in this particular loop but we’re also generating benefit from that and the question is how we are giving back to those ecosystems."

– Dr. Lydia Jennings

OUR HOST: ALEX DICKINSON

Alex Dickinson is a writer, runner, and a yoga and meditation teacher. He approaches running and yoga practice with a similar mindset—as ways to connect mind and body, explore internal and external landscapes, and simply feel better. He finds the pairing of the pursuits is greater than the sum of its parts. It’s his mission to share the gifts of these practices fairly and equitably, with a great deal of respect for the roots of the practice and those who have passed it down the generations.
